Paul has around 18 years of healthcare management and leadership experience, having joined the NHS graduate training scheme in 2003. Today, Paul leads on net zero operations for the Greener NHS Programme. Most of his career has been in managing clinical services in acute hospitals, ranging from Emergency Departments and acute medicine to specialist surgery and regional cancer units. Paul also spent four years at Monitor, including two years as their Regional Director for the North of England, before returning to lead NHS frontline services. Immediately before joining the Greener NHS Programme, he spent a year co-ordinating the COVID-19 pandemic response at a London teaching hospital and then leading its roll out of its associated vaccination programme.
