Dr Harriet Conniff
Dr Harriet Conniff, Lead Clinical Psychologist for Staff Support, Evelina London Children’s Hospital and Women’s Services, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Harriet has worked in Paediatrics and in some adult health settings for over 12 years, mainly in intensive care and respiratory. Throughout her career in health, she has been responsible for providing staff support. In 2018 she gained a post leading on Staff support across the Evelina Children’s Hospital part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) which was the first known staff support psychology post to work at this scale (3,500 staff) outside of Occupational Health domains. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she has worked at Trust level for GSTT (18,500 staff) to support design and delivery of the Trust wellbeing plan alongside Dr Neil Rees who is the Trust lead Consultant Psychologist for Staff Health & Wellbeing. Harriet is systemically trained, specialising in the Solution Focused approach and finds the latter, as well as a systemic consultation model, useful in staff support working. Harriet is a longstanding member of the BPS and sits on the committees of the Paediatric Psychology Network and the Faculty of Clinical Health Psychology, acting in a link role between them. Harriet is an active member of the PPN’s Staff support SIG who have collaborated to write a paper on offering group interventions as part of staff support (in press).
