Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership Net Zero Lead and Head of Environmental Sustainability, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

Claire is responsible for leading the sustainability agenda across a large group of hospitals, and has worked for her current employer since 2013. She worked in the not-for-profit environmental sector prior to joining the NHS, managing and delivering funded environmental support programmes for businesses. Claire also supports the sustainability agenda across the Greater Manchester ICS as well as the North West region.

Claire is responsible for developing, implementing and reporting progress against MFT’s sustainability strategy, and leads on a number of thematic areas including sustainable travel, staff engagement and behaviour change and waste management. Under Claire’s leadership, MFT have developed a strong reputation for their leadership in this area and have won a number of awards. Claire is a full member of IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) and a Chartered Environmentalist.
