Alison commenced her NHS career in a clinical operational environment as a general practice/fundholding manager and has a proven track record of managing front line staff delivering primary care, health visiting and district nursing services.
Alison is an expert in Primary Care having lectured nationally on the GMS contract, supported the Primary Care at scale agenda through leading the establishment of GP Provider Federations, the implementation of a due diligence process for commissioners and has led national programmes to identify the impact of change on both the population and the system, including the development of secondary legislation and the design of content and processes aligned to the implementation of the Quality Premium scheme and the identification and implementation of impact measures for the national Clinical Pharmacist in General Practice scheme.
Her proven ability to identify innovative approaches and solutions to the challenges faced in Primary Care includes the development and delivery of a programme of support to General Practice aligned to the Resilience Agenda across Wessex and the provision of consultancy support to emerging PCNs.
Alison has worked for SCW since its formation, prior to this she has worked for both EMIS and Thornfields Ltd, was head of primary care for Oxford City PCT and Practice Based Commissioning Lead for Oxfordshire.
Having worked at a senior level in both NHS and consultancy organisations with a focus on Primary Care, Alison has significant experience in working with General Practices providing on-site support, training and consultancy.
