The NHS Confederation has been leading an important programme to challenge the assumptions that have long governed NHS workforce development and to understand what the future balance between the national and local level should resemble.   

This session will reflect on the early findings of this programme; exploring both the roles and responsibilities for workforce policy and planning that ICS leaders require to truly enable local system transformation; and the local, external partnerships that should be prioritised and developed to support and deliver this.
