Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic the NHS has experienced transformation and innovation adoption at a pace and scale surpassing anything seen before. It’s vitally important that this progress is not lost as we reset and restart services in the wake of the pandemic. To do this, there needs to be an effective way of evaluating the impact of innovations and service changes introduced during the pandemic..

As the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the AHSN Network started its Health and Care Reset campaign. Focusing on key topics across the health and care system, the campaign takes lessons learned from work of the AHSNs and insights from stakeholder engagement sessions including roundtables and surveys, to offer a series of recommendations that have the potential to realise the vision for a more innovative health and care system. The campaign has culminated in a recently published report, which provides actionable insights and learnings designed to inform leaders across the NHS as it enters the next phase of the pandemic response.

The session will provide an overview of the AHSN Network’s experience throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, discuss key learnings and insights from its Reset campaign, and outline cross-cutting recommendations that relate to each of the campaign’s themes. Representatives from the AHSN Network who have been involved in specific themes of the campaign will also present additional findings and recommendations. The session will conclude with a panel discussion on the future for reset, recovery, and current/future challenges facing the system, with questions invited from the audience.

This session forms part of the Innovation feature zone, which is supported by The AHSN Network.
